The 15th edition of the International Exhibition of Renewable Energies, Energies of the Future and Sustainable Development (ERA) will be held from February 2nd to 4th. The Oran Convention Centre is thus preparing to become, during these three days, the nerve center where the country's energy future will be shaped.
As climate challenges and energy security redefine global balances, Algeria reaffirms its commitment to playing a leading role in the green revolution. It is within this strategic context that the 15th edition of the International Exhibition of Renewable Energies, Future Energies, and Sustainable Development (ERA) will be held from February 2nd to 4th. For three days, the Oran Convention Center is poised to become the central hub where the country's energy future will be shaped. Focused on the theme of the "energy mix," this anniversary edition does more than simply celebrate its exceptional longevity.
It also boasts of marking an operational turning point. For Algeria, the energy mix is no longer a mere theoretical option, but a lever for sovereignty and growth. The organizers, the agency "Myriad," have structured the event around the pillars of the new global economy: the rise of renewable energies, the potential of green hydrogen, and the imperative challenges of decarbonization. The ERA 15 trade fair comes at a time when Algerian industry is being called upon to reduce its carbon footprint to remain competitive in international markets, particularly in the face of new environmental regulations at Europe's borders. One of the strengths of this edition lies in the diversity and quality of the participants. Nearly one hundred exhibitors are expected, creating an unprecedented synergy between the public sector, the private sector, and academia. The major players in the national energy and industrial landscape will be present.
Focus on sustainable development
The energy giant Sonatrach, the driving force behind the national strategy, will be joined by industry leaders such as the cement group GICA, as well as major private sector players like Condor, GISB, and Zergoun Green Energy, the latter a pioneer in solar panel manufacturing. Resource management, inextricably linked to sustainable development, will also be represented by leading organizations such as Seaal and the Gerhyd Group, highlighting that the energy transition is a comprehensive ecosystem encompassing water, industry, and housing.
Recognizing that innovation originates in laboratories before flourishing in the market, the ERA trade show gives prominence to scientific research. Research and development centers, universities, and polytechnic schools will be present to showcase their latest discoveries. This close interaction between banks (present for financing), public institutions, and researchers fosters the development of concrete partnerships and technology transfer. Alongside the trade exhibition, a comprehensive scientific program is planned.
No fewer than 19 presentations and panels will be led by top specialists, economic operators, and institutional decision-makers. These discussions will focus on technical solutions for integrating clean energy into the national grid, tax incentives for decarbonization, and the prospects for large-scale green hydrogen production.
Beyond the exhibition itself, the ERA trade fair aims to be a support platform for businesses. Through an educational approach, the event seeks to raise awareness among industrial managers about the need to adopt cleaner production models. The objective is twofold: to meet the demands of the fight against climate change and to optimize production costs through energy efficiency. In 15 years, the ERA trade fair has become much more than a trade show.
It is a barometer of Algeria's technological maturity. Between the political will to accelerate the transition and the emergence of innovative start-ups in the green sector, this Oran edition promises to be a pivotal moment.
From February 2nd to 4th, Oran will not only be the "Pearl of the Mediterranean," but also the prime showcase for an Algeria looking towards a post-oil future. By bringing together all links in the chain, from researchers to industrialists, from students to financiers, the ERA 15 trade fair confirms that the energy transition is now a reality in progress. For professional visitors and decision-makers, this event is a unique opportunity to understand that the energy mix is the key to sustainable, efficient, and inclusive development. Participants and visitors alike are invited to attend the event from February 2nd to 5th at the Oran Convention Center to discover what is being called "the future of energy."
